"Useful AI Video Tool for Independent Music Promotion"
4.5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

As an independent music artist, I look for tools that help me create promotional content without needing a full video production team. D-ID is useful for experimenting with AI-generated talking videos from still images. I find this concept helpful for creating music announcements, promotional teasers, and visual content ideas for social media. The workflow is relatively straightforward, and the ability to animate a still image gives me another creative option when planning content for a music release. What do you dislike about D-ID?

The output quality can vary depending on the source image and selected voice. Facial movements and lip synchronization do not always look completely natural, so I would review the result before using it in a public-facing promotion. I would also appreciate more control over facial expressions, movement, and the final video's visual style. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Turns Rough Ideas Into Easy-to-Understand Videos"
4.5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

The thing I enjoy most about D-ID is that it removes the pressure of traditional video creation. Instead of thinking about cameras, lighting, or retakes, I can focus on the message I want to share. I often start with a rough idea, type a script, and within a short time I have a video that is ready to review or share. It feels less like using a complex editing tool and more like having a visual assistant that helps turn thoughts into something people can actually watch and understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

One thing I would improve is the amount of creative control available after the video is generated. Sometimes I want the avatar to react differently to certain parts of the script, such as sounding more excited, thoughtful, or conversational, but the adjustment options are still somewhat limited. I also notice that when I experiment with different scripts, it can take a few tries to get the pacing exactly how I imagined it in my head. These are not deal-breakers, but having deeper control over tone, timing, and expression would make the experience feel much more personal and flexible for different kinds of content. "Innovative Avatars, Frustrating Support Experience"
5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

I like the innovation and how easy it is to use D-ID. The platform is very easy to navigate, and its response time is quite impressive, allowing real-time interaction. I really enjoy the avatars and find it simple to build and deploy them, which makes the experience better for me and the end users who interact with them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

I think the support aspect of D-ID could be improved. I find there's friction with getting support, as it takes longer than expected when a feature isn't working right or when I want to interact with someone. It often ends up through email, which can be inconvenient, so a smoother way of connecting to human support within the platform would be helpful. Also, the browser support isn't the best for me since I prefer using Firefox, but it doesn't always work smoothly; it performs better with Chrome. Improving cross-browser support would make for a better experience regardless of the browser someone chooses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Convincing Talking Avatar Videos with D-ID—Huge Time Saver"
5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

What I like most about D-ID is how quickly it turns a simple script into a polished talking avatar video. The Creative Reality Studio is the part I use most, and the interface is clean enough that I had my first video out within about ten minutes of signing up, no tutorial needed. Picking a presenter, pasting the text and choosing a voice all sit in one screen, so there's very little clicking about.

The AI itself is the real draw. The lip sync and facial movement look convincing rather than robotic, and the voice range across languages means I can produce localised versions of the same video without re-recording anything. For training content and client updates that has saved me hours every week compared with booking a presenter or editing footage myself.

Performance has been reliable too. Renders come back fast even on longer scripts, and the API made it straightforward to plug generation into our own workflow rather than doing everything by hand. The integrations and developer tools were better documented than I expected.

On value, the credit based pricing works out well for the volume we produce, and the time saved easily covers the cost. Onboarding was self explanatory, and the times I contacted support I got a helpful reply without a long wait. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

The thing that frustrates me most is the credit system. It's easy to burn through credits faster than you expect, especially when you re-render a video a few times to get the timing right, and it isn't always obvious upfront how much a given job will cost. For heavier users the pricing can start to feel steep once you move past the lower tiers.

On the AI side, the results are strong but not flawless. Longer scripts occasionally throw up an odd bit of lip sync or an unnatural pause, and certain voices still sound a little flat next to the best ones, so I end up regenerating sections to get something I'm happy with.

The interface is generally clean, but a few things could be smoother. Managing a large library of past videos gets fiddly, and I'd like better organisation and search once you've built up a lot of projects.

Integrations are good if you're comfortable with the API, but there's less in the way of ready made plugins for common tools, so some of the setup fell on us. Support has been helpful when I've reached out, though replies during busier periods can take longer than I'd like, and the onboarding docs don't always keep pace with newer features. "Easy to Use, Fast, and Fun for Getting Things Done"
4.5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

What really stands out about D-ID is the smooth way in which we can scale our videos. Connecting to what we already have in place, whether via Canva or the API, is hassle-free. The pricing truly does make total sense for our operation and saves us a ton in video production and localisation costs. The support team is also very helpful, always releasing impressive new features like real-time agents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

To be honest, the main things I dislike are some of the UX choices and a few AI quirks. The user experience could definitely be smoother, given how awkward the platform seems to navigate for quick work. Even with such powerful AI capabilities, the avatars do fall into that uncanny valley, with their movements and lip syncing seeming just a little too robotic. "Rapid prototyping of client training videos using the Creative Reality Studio"
4.5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

As a freelance consultant, my core deliverables often include asynchronous training modules and corporate pitch decks for clients. D-ID's Creative Reality Studio stands out because it fits seamlessly into that workflow. I regularly use the native Canva integration to build the visual slide deck, then switch to D-ID to generate a custom presenter. Being able to upload a standard, front-facing portrait of a client’s executive and animate it using their exact script saves my clients thousands of dollars compared with traditional video production. On top of that, the text-to-speech engine offers strong pacing controls: I can insert “break” tags and strategic pauses directly in the script editor, which makes the audio delivery sound remarkably natural rather than robotic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

The credit consumption model feels incredibly unforgiving during the client revision phase. As a consultant, my clients often request minor, last-minute script tweaks. If a client wants to change a single sentence in a 3-minute video, D-ID doesn’t offer a timeline editor that would let me simply “patch” that specific audio segment. Instead, I have to regenerate the entire video asset from scratch, which consumes full credits for a new render.

On top of that, the generated avatars don’t have dynamic body movement; they’re essentially head-and-shoulders “talking heads.” When a client’s training video runs longer than 4 or 5 minutes, the lack of hand gestures can make the presentation feel a bit static. "Custom Voices on Multilingual Avatars with Lots of Voice Options"
5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

I like that it lets you use custom voices on multilingual avatars, and that there are more voice options available than with HeyGen’s competitors. Integrate the interactive avatar on www.plussalute.com with the D-ID API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

It’s not much, really, but it works fine for my purposes. I do think the credits could be adjusted a bit better to match avatar usage, which would give more ways to save money, even though it’s already one of the cheapest options compared to its competitors. "Easy AI Video Creation, but Quality and Integration Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about D-ID?

I like D-ID’s Canva connector because it integrates easily into my designs. I can create training videos without self-tapes or recordings, and easily edit the AI voice and presenters without doing full re-records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about D-ID?

The Canva integration breaks sometimes. When I do longer voiceovers or presentations, the TTS quality degrades, and the avatars’ mouth mapping is often off or adds random movements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
